ELECTROCUTED! ♥ 12:16 pm

Remember that video Mr. Lim showed us about that guy who was electrocuted? Well, I'm not sure if this is the same guy, but this guy apparently got electrocuted too.

On Feb 1996, this guy who was high on PCP (Phencyclidine, a recreational, dissociative drug formerly used as an anesthetic agent, exhibiting hallucinogenic and neurotoxic effects) tried to kill himself.

Okay, so here in this picture (shown above), the guy has already walked from a previous power pole to the one he's at now, by walking on a low voltage wire and holding on to other wires around him to balance. By now, the Power Company had already cut the power from those wires. However, the guy is now moving on to the high voltage level. Wires at this level have a voltage of 16,600 volts!

So, this guy was really very high on PCP, and actually reached out and grabbed the conductor. 16,600 volts shot through his body, and his whole body was inside this huge ball of fire. The air surrounding him became ionized and begins to conduct and actually burn. Interestingly, the wire that he was holding on to started to whip around, which is apparently due to the massive amounts of current trying to reach the ground.

However, the really interesting thing about this guy is that he's still alive, even to this day! Such a high current of 16,600 volts should normally kill someone. But I'm not sure why, this guy is still alive. Maybe it could be because of all that PCP in his body or something?

Anyway, I didn't put in the graphic pictures for obvious reasons, but if you're interested, all this information came from the following website:

So, if you want to see the pictures of the balls of fire, and the whipping action of the wire, you can check it out. However, it really is very graphic, so watch at your own risk. :D
